4 Beauty Products You Can’t Live Without This Summer

May 16, 2015 Beauty, Lifestyle

It may not be summer officially, but Memorial Day will be here in a matter of blinks. Seriously.

That’s why I wanted to start an important conversation before we’re off, diving into pools full of chlorine and toasting in the sun for hours on end.

Summer skin protection, repair, and revival.

One of the most common mistakes that women make this time of year is taking their minimal skin care routine from the winter and completely eliminating everything. Leaving your skin way more susceptible to breakouts and aging. OMG!

Between long hours at the beach, swimming in saltwater, and overall sweating that comes from being out and about, our skin is seriously thirsty for some love and care. Wake up and smell the rose water! Just because you’re on vacation doesn’t mean your skin routine needs to be.

To make sure you’re prepared to pamper your precious skin and hair, I’ve compiled a list of essential, all-natural products so you don’t even have to think twice about what to buy.

Use Oil as a Facial Cleanser

Aimee Raupp Beauty’s Argan Oil Facial Cleanser is so good, it changed the way I think about facial cleansers. It removes impurities like makeup, dirt, and debris without drying or stripping your skin of essential oils. It multi-tasks by nourishing, hydrating, purifying, and fighting blemishes all at once. It will leave your face feeling clean and supple and will not dry your skin out like most commercial facial cleansers do.

Lighten up your moisturizer

I am obsessed with Naturopathica’s Lavender Protective Moisturizer. So much so that I’ve gotten my dad hooked too. No joke! This  hydrating cream contains micronized Zinc Oxide, a natural sunscreen to help guard the skin from UVA/UVB damage. Lavender calms irritation and soothes the senses while Macadamia Seed Oil conditions the skin. It’s so good!

Moisturize Your Hair

Kumari Luxury Hair Oil  reminds me of going to india and getting a head massage at the most luxurious place on earth (make it sound magical). The founder Aarti really pulls from our indian roots, pun intended. the thing about hair oil is that people usually think that it will make your scalp and hair greasier, and this is a concern especially in the summer. The truth is that though, using this hair oil will actually help your scalp stay nourished and balanced, so that it won’t over-produce it’s own oils. Natural oils in this treatment, particularly coconut and grape seed oils, provide some protection from UV damage as well.

Add in a Daily Serum

Consider Skin Dressing’s Skin Serum your beach bag moisturizer! I was amazed at how quickly it absorbed into my skin. The rose and cucumber combo brings cooling effects into skin and combats inflammation especially after a long day in the sun.
